“Our vision is to inspire the world to recognize the greatness within every person.” -Westonwood Ranch
Quarterly serving is something that our agents eagerly anticipate. Prioritizing God’s people and listening to the needs of our community remain our top priorities here at Live30A. This past quarterly serving we had the privilege of connecting with Westonwood Ranch, a 501c(3) non profit farm-based learning program for individuals with ASD and related developmental disorders.
“You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”- Acts 20:34-35 (NIV)
Westonwood Ranch takes a visionary approach to equipping teens and young adults with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities (IDD) with essential life and job skills. Located on a 10-acre holistic ranch in Freeport, FL, their program delivers practical, hands-on learning experiences designed to boost independence, enhance confidence, and develop job-related skills. Westonwood is a place that offers every individual a place to thrive, emphasizing ABILITY over disability.
Westonwood noticed that too many teens with exceptionalities would graduate high school without any productive work skills or adaptive skills needed for self-sufficient living. For some students, college might not be the best next step and most are often extremely underprepared to step into employment. So this is where Westonwood stepped in. It provides students with a space where their diverse talents are recognized and extraordinary jobs are offered. Lindy, the founder of Westonwood, made it clear that she was on a mission to support young adults with disabilities throughout all stages of their lives- not just when insurance coverage ends due to age limits.
“Neurotypical or not, I believe we all have that inheritance desire to contribute to society in some way”– Lindy (Founder of Westonwood Ranch)
During our time at Westonwood we were able to be apart of landscaping, playing games, painting fences, learning all about the ranch’s incredible programs, and connect with the students and volunteers! This was made possible through the funds of sales during Quarter 2! We loved every second out on the ranch and look forward to continuing our partnership with Westonwood!
